One Night Stand Against Cancer

Halifax, Nova Scotia, October 10, 2018 – Today, the Canadian Cancer Society joined together with comedian, actor, and writer, Mark Critch at The Sobey Cancer Support Centre to launch a new campaign called, One Night Stand Against Cancer. The campaign is aimed at raising funds to provide accommodation for patients in Nova Scotia who must travel for cancer treatment. In 2017, it was estimated that 6,200 Nova Scotians were diagnosed with cancer. The Sobey Cancer Support Centre Now Open 24/7 For Cancer Patients

Halifax – June 20, 2018 — The Canadian Cancer Society will now open its doors full time for patients who must travel to Halifax for their cancer treatment. Previously, the Sobey Cancer Support Centre was available Monday to Friday to address an unmet need for patient accommodations during treatment. Expanded access to free accommodations, emotional supports, and other programming at the Dr. Susan K.
